Prepare Cold Brew
- In a cold brew coffee maker, combine the coarse ground coffee and cold water. Stir gently to ensure all coffee grounds are saturated.
- Cover and let steep in the refrigerator for 12-24 hours.
- After steeping, strain the coffee using a fine mesh sieve or the cold brew maker's filter.
Make Vanilla Syrup
- In a saucepan, combine sugar and water over medium heat. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Let cool before using.
Serve
- Fill serving glasses with ice and pour the cold brew coffee over the ice.
- Add vanilla syrup to taste and stir well. Optionally, add milk or cream.
- Garnish with a vanilla bean or a sprinkle of cinnamon if desired.
