Ingredients
  

Coffee Base
  • 1 cup coarse ground coffee Use high-quality coffee beans
  • 4 cups cold water Filtered water is recommended
Vanilla Syrup
  • 1 cup granulated sugar For sweetening
  • 1 cup water For syrup base
  • 2 tablespoons vanilla extract Pure vanilla extract preferred
To Serve
  • 4 cups ice For serving
  • 1 cup milk or cream Optional, for creaminess

Method
 

Prepare Cold Brew
  1. In a cold brew coffee maker, combine the coarse ground coffee and cold water. Stir gently to ensure all coffee grounds are saturated.
  2. Cover and let steep in the refrigerator for 12-24 hours.
  3. After steeping, strain the coffee using a fine mesh sieve or the cold brew maker's filter.
Make Vanilla Syrup
  1. In a saucepan, combine sugar and water over medium heat. Stir until the sugar is completely dissolved.
  2. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Let cool before using.
Serve
  1. Fill serving glasses with ice and pour the cold brew coffee over the ice.
  2. Add vanilla syrup to taste and stir well. Optionally, add milk or cream.
  3. Garnish with a vanilla bean or a sprinkle of cinnamon if desired.
