Prepare Cold Brew
- In a cold brew coffee maker, combine the coarse ground coffee and cold water. Stir gently to ensure all coffee grounds are saturated.
- Cover and let steep in the refrigerator for 12 to 24 hours, depending on your desired strength.
- After steeping, strain the coffee through a fine mesh sieve or coffee filter to remove the grounds.
Make Vanilla Syrup
- In a saucepan, combine granulated sugar and water. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is fully dissolved.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract. Let cool before using.
Serve
- Fill a glass with ice and pour in the cold brew coffee to about 2/3 full.
- Add vanilla syrup to taste and stir well. If desired, top with milk or cream.
