Preparation
- Peel the ripe plantains by cutting off the ends and making a slit along the length of the skin. Remove the skin carefully.
- Slice the plantains diagonally into 1-inch thick pieces.
Cooking
- Heat the vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
- Once the oil is hot, add the sliced plantains in a single layer. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Remove the fried plantains from the skillet and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil. Sprinkle with salt if desired.
