Prepare the Strawberries
- Wash and hull the strawberries, then chop them into small pieces.
Cook the Jam
- In a saucepan, combine the chopped strawberries, sugar, and lemon juice. Stir over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.
- Increase the heat and bring the mixture to a boil, stirring frequently. If using pectin, add it according to package instructions.
- Boil for about 10-15 minutes, or until the mixture thickens to your desired consistency.
Jar the Jam
- Remove the saucepan from heat and let it cool slightly. Pour the jam into sterilized jars using a canning funnel.
- Seal the jars and let them cool completely at room temperature.
