Ingredients
  

Pasta
  • 12 oz Pasta (spaghetti or fettuccine)
Onion Sauce
  • 2 medium Onions thinly sliced
  • 3 cloves Garlic minced
  • 3 tbsp Olive Oil for sautéing
  • 1 tsp Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp Black Pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp Dried Oregano
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan Cheese grated, optional
Garnish
  • 2 tbsp Fresh Parsley chopped

Method
 

Cook Pasta
  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
  2. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain the pasta in a colander.
Prepare Onion Sauce
  1. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add sliced onions and sauté until they are caramelized, about 10-15 minutes.
  2. Add minced garlic, salt, black pepper, and oregano. Cook for an additional 2-3 minutes until fragrant.
Combine and Serve
  1. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the onion sauce. Toss to combine, adding reserved pasta water as needed to create a sauce.
  2. Serve hot, garnished with grated Parmesan cheese and chopped parsley.

Notes

For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the onion sauce.
