  • 1 lb chicken breast Boneless and skinless
  • 1 teaspoon salt Adjust to taste
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper Freshly ground
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil For searing the chicken
For the Topping
  • 1 cup marinara sauce Choose your favorite brand or homemade
  • 1 cup fresh mozzarella cheese Sliced
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese Adds a nutty depth of flavor
  • 1 tablespoon fresh basil Chopped
For Garnish
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze Optional but recommended
  • Extra basil leaves For serving

Method
 

Cooking Instructions
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Prepare the chicken breasts by seasoning them with salt, pepper, and Italian herbs.
  3. Sear the seasoned chicken in a hot skillet with olive oil for about 4-5 minutes on each side, until golden brown.
  4. Top each piece of chicken with slices of fresh mozzarella cheese and your favorite marinara sauce.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and the chicken is cooked through.
  6. Garnish with freshly chopped basil or parsley just before serving.
