  • 1 lb ground beef preferably lean
  • 1 cup long-grain rice uncooked
  • 2 cups beef broth or water
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup bell pepper chopped
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp cumin

Method
 

Cooking the Beef
  1. In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a wooden spoon.
  2. Add the chopped onion, garlic, and bell pepper to the skillet. Cook until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
Cooking the Rice
  1. Stir in the rice, beef broth, salt, black pepper, paprika, and cumin. Bring to a boil.
  2. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and the liquid is absorbed.
Serving
  1. Remove from heat and let sit covered for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork and serve warm.
