- In a large pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil and add the salt.
- Add the quartered onions to the boiling water and cook for about 15 minutes until tender.
- While the onions are boiling, melt the butter in a separate pan over medium heat.
- Add the minced garlic to the melted butter and sauté for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Once the onions are tender, drain them in a colander and return them to the pot.
- Pour the garlic butter mixture over the drained onions and toss to coat evenly.
- Season with black pepper and garnish with chopped parsley before serving.
