Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
Wet Ingredients
  • 1 cup cold water can substitute with beer for extra flavor
  • 1 large egg lightly beaten

Method
 

Prepare the Batter
  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the cold water and beaten egg.
  3. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined.
Fry the Fish
  1. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  2. Dip the fish fillets into the batter, allowing excess to drip off.
  3. Carefully place the battered fish into the hot oil and fry for 3-5 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  4. Remove the fish and drain on paper towels before serving.
